The Office Suite then proceeded with the normal installation. On the autorun.vbs file to launch the installation script. Going to that " Office 2003" folder via Windows Explorer on the Virtual PC, I clicked XP Virtual PC environment and copied the " Office 2003." folder from the W7Pro hard drive (as seen from the Virtual PC) to the Virtual PC's C drive. Then I copied the entire Office 2003 installation CD to this folder. So, I first created a separate " Office 2003 Installation Disk" folder on the hard drive in the W7Pro environment. While it is correct that the CD drive is not visible to the Virtual XP environment, and none of the Virtual PC is visible under the W7Pro envronment, it turns out that the laptop's hard drive as seen from W7Pro is also visible in the Virtual PC environment
HOWEVER., I finally figured out an indirect approach that works.

His response didn't give me any answer about how to solve my problem. In any way except the original installation CD, and I obviously knew from experience that I couldn't do that.
#LENOVO T410 HP LASERJET PRINTER DRIVER DOWNLOAD INSTALL#
I needed to install under the XP Virtual PC a key application that was not available While Carey's suggestion about the direct download worked, I must say I find Bill Grant's comments interesting but unhelpful - and certainly not an answer. How do I get the Virtual Mode PC to recognize my specific DVD drive and install a compatible driver so I can use it under XP Mode.?
#LENOVO T410 HP LASERJET PRINTER DRIVER DOWNLOAD UPDATE#
Update to find a newer driver, it said that the driver was the most recent available. When I went to the Device Manager under XP Mode and asked it to use Windows Under the Virtual PC, the XP Mode sees the same drive as a DVD/CD-ROM Drive, manufacturer = "Standard CD-ROM Drive" and uses the Microsoft. The system was just purchased and setup last week, and all updates have been applied,
Under W7Pro the driver is identified as Microsoft. I am running a new Lenovo T410 ThinkPad with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ8A2 drive. My problem is that under XP Mode the system will not run the installed CD drive to read the required printer driver files,Īnd it cannot find the driver files for my HP 2605dn printer using Windows Update in the Install Printer Wizard. I have already installed my printer in 64-bit W7Pro and am now trying to install it to also run under the Virtual PC in XP Mode.
